God Sleeps Tonight by Jerry Pat Bolton

God Sleeps TonightCindy Landry and her husband were abducted and held in an isolated house for two days filled with torture and sexual assault. Cindy’s husband was murdered and she was left for dead. With the help of the murderer’s sister, who he also sexually abused, they exact revenge. The lackadaisical court system seems more inclined to bend over backward for the torturer and murderer of Cindy and her husband. But, in my 249 page novel, “God Sleeps Tonight” what goes around, comes around for Cindy and Imogene, a truly pitiful character have their day(s).

Unholy PursuitSeventy-year-old Joe John Jefferies, recently widowed and alone is at a crossroad in his long life. He is a writer of books, but the words seem to have dried up for him, his so-called Muse has called in sick and will be gone for the foreseeable future. As he contemplates his future he also delves into his past, and especially one particular person he met when a young man on an isolated highway in Georgia. Although he can remember, in great detail, what transpired those brief eighteen hours they were together he cannot remember her name, or even if she gave him her name. So! Off our hero goes in search for the Nameless Girl.

He begins his search at the place they meet in Georgia not understanding what is ahead of him, and indeed what fate has conspired to send him on this search for the Nameless girl. Soon, however, Joe will understand it all too well.

The Nameless Girl will soon be identified as Casondrah, and Joe, heedless to the many red lights he encounters is bewitched by her once again. That she is the supreme vampire of the Clan of Longinus matters not to Joe. And to make matters even more appealing, Joe has begun a process of peeling back the years until he is a young man once again.

Soon he sees Casondrah for what and who she is, but is it too late for him? He also is told of a plan of untold evil which has been set in motion centuries ago and is now very near its completion. This plan must be thwarted by any means necessary and Joe find out, in the end, that it is he alone that can bring down the diabolical plan of the Clan of Longinus to rule the world

This definitive collection of tales from the pen of the author includes a second tale of multiple murder in “Breathing to Death,” and also takes the reader beneath the ocean, beyond the stars, and deep into the cellars of an English country mansion. Finally, we are treated to a four chapter preview of Porter’s latest novel Under Mexican Skies. A truly remarkable journey through the mind of an extremely talented author!

5.0 out of 5 stars Award Winning Material!!, June 28, 2009
By Barbara Watkins “Barbara Watkins” (Missouri)

What can I say about Brian L. Porter and his latest literary work known as ‘The Voice of Anton Bouchard’ other than to say in my opinion, it was a work of excellence! His works are known to provoke emotions of horror, terror and intrigue…and through ‘The Voice of Anton Bouchard’ {and other stories} the author managed to do just that.

I visited Paris in its darkest hour and traveled along side a psychopathic serial killer.

Aboard a submarine miles below the Pacific waves, I witnessed the destruction of the earth and mankind. I then took a journey along side detectives and participated in solving a murder.

I traveled through the Transylvanian Alps and ended up with ‘Bodies in the Cellar,’ only to find I had been abducted by Alien creatures no less!

Bravo to the author, Brian L. Porter, for giving his readers’ yet another five star experience!

By Ralph R. Deluca Jr. (USA)

The Voice of Anton Bouchard is a book of short, well written, and entertaining storys. I blew through the book in one short afternoon. The storys contain horror, brotherly love, natural disasters and more. You owe it to yourself to read it. Mr Porter has got me hooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get Ready to Enter the Twilight Zone, June 7, 2009
By     Martha A. Cheves (Charlotte, NC)

Short story “Red Sky in the Morning”… ‘Prior to surfacing completely, the submarine’s commander, Captain Simon Merrick had ordered the periscope raised, and he knew as soon as he put his eye to the scope that something wasn’t right. Although the submarine’s chronometer showed the time as eleven o’clock in the morning it appeared quite dark on the surface. There appeared to be an incredible red tinge to the outside world. While he tried to make some sense of what he saw his communications officer, Mike Regan had been trying without success, to make contact with the base at Rosyth.’

What Merrick and his crew didn’t know as their submarine surfaced from the deep waters was that they were about to “Enter the Twilight Zone.”

Enter the Twilight Zone yourself as you read “The Voice of Anton Bouchard” which will have you wondering why a serial killer suddenly stopped killing. Read “Breathing to Death” to see how and why women with medical problems are being killed. “The Sound of Silence” will have you traveling with a young lady, who after a wreck, is carried off to what could be nothing less than the castle of Dracula. These stories and many more that make up this book will carry you into the “Zone.”

The House on The Bluff Book One The Legacy Series by Elena Dorothy Bowman

August 2, 2009 at 9:03 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

L1-House on the Bluff_Book 1-54Synopsis – The House On The Bluff – Book 1 – Legacy Series
Suspense, Mystery, Drama, Romance….

When Abigail Adams Pierce stumbled onto the family legacy, she never imagined in her wildest dreams what the effect her discovery would have on her from that moment on. Intrigued by the description of an 18th Century ancestor’s blood-curdling screams in the dark of night, and never having been heard from again, piqued her curiosity. She had to see what it was about the “house” that made people tremble. Why no one had ventured near it since 1789; why no one had dared.

According to the stories handed down from one generation to another, it had been there for centuries, standing tall … empty … beckoning …maintaining its enchantment and its ageless elegance, rising as a silent sentinel waiting for the one long destined to enter to claim ownership.Waiting for someone? Me, she thought. The house was waiting for me. It had to be.

Little did she know that her curiosity would take her on a hair-raising journey she would never forget; a journey that once started would have no turning back at the risk of losing her life in the physical sense and being trapped within the spiritual realm that had invaded the Pierce House. She dismissed, out of hand, warnings of the terror, foretold, lurking within the “house” that went along with claiming ownership.

This then was her family’s legacy handed down from the 11th Century to the descendent who would dare to enter in spite of its warnings … A legacy that prophesized the danger and horrendous trials set before it.Neither was she aware that if she didn’t take the first step into this foreboding journey, she would never meet the one who was preordained to be her Consort. All she knew was that it would all start on the day she entered the family’s ancestral home by the sea.

The House On The Bluff – Book I – Legacy Series
By Elena Dorothy Bowman

Review by Anne K. Edwards, Mystery Fiction.net

A mysterious house lures people to it and they are never heard from again–alive.  This causes fear in the neighborhood of Adam’s Point to leave so it is isolated as well, except for one young man who is staying at his family’s summer cottage.

Abigail has come to lay claim to this house with its bleak atmosphere, but the question is, will she claim the house or will it claim her? She is tempted more than once to flee the sights and sounds she encounters, but determination makes her stay.

A story that seems to have a touch of horror, but the reader will find there is a twist in the plot that leads away from that idea.  Ghosts abound with doors closing on their own, mysterious music with no apparent source, meals appearing on cue with no staff, cold unappealing rooms, all adding their own touch to the atmosphere of a house you will enjoy visiting while waiting for Abigail and her new friends, Ethan and Tony, to figure things out.

Talented author Elena Dorothy Bowman offers the reader something new in paranormal romance in a world peopled by fun characters (including the house).  You’ll feel as if you’ve actually visited the place, so well done is the description.
Recommended as a fun read.  Enjoy.  I did.   — Anne K. Edwards

Review:  by Rachel Webb Publicist

–“The House On The Bluff Mystery-Romance Novel is a real spine tingler.”
–“I’ll never feel safe in the fog again after reading House on the Bluff! It’s spooky because it’s historically authentic, and it’s romantic and funny at the same time. –Rachel Webb, Publicist, London, England
Review by: –Mike Purfield, b-independent.com
on-line film entertainment, January, 2003….

–“In New England, the Pierce house sits on the bluff uninhabited for hundreds of years. The last person to live there disappeared, but Abigail, a descendent…has no intention of disappearing…The characters are innocent and charming. I laughed a few times at the bickering between the characters, falling for their chemistry and conflict. Most of the story takes place in the house where Abigail is trapped with her two friends Ethan and Tony. Bowman has written some great cat-and-mouse-in-the-maze sequences that topple anything Hollywood could come up with…For a short, breezy, haunting, and charming time,”The House on the Bluff” might be what you are looking for. — Mike Purfield

Review by:   ~ Bobby Duffy English Teacher. Florida – January, 2003….

–Adams Point was not the most hospitable place in the world. Perched on a small island in a bay that allowed no ships or boats past its entrance…Never in anyone’s memory had the house been occupied, yet never deteriorated the way most abandoned houses did… — Bobby Webb
