You need to always be aware of who is coming toward you when you are driving or are walking down the street. Imagine, listening to your IPod or talking on your cell phone and all of a sudden you are knocked down or knocked out and have no idea where the person or car came from. It came out of nowhere. When you wake up you remember nothing about the incident, nor who you are or your name. You wind up in a place that is more than unfamiliar, frightening and a whole different world that you lived in before. You lost your life. Now, imagine being the CEO of a major corporation and your company is on the stock market and your stock prices are rising daily. Then, one fateful morning you come into work and all of a sudden a group of men and women enter your office with armed guards and you and your fellow officers are escorted out into another office somewhere else to explain that they now own your company: CORPORATE TAKEOVER and worse. Coming From Nowhere is a frightening and thought provoking first novel that gives the reader the reason take a step back and pause to realize that the events in this book make you shake and shudder. If you think 9/11 was horrific or the bombings in England, Madrid or any other foreign country were horrendous the events that take place and the reasons behind them in this book should make everyone start watching their backs and paying closer attention to their lives.

JD or Jane Doe our main character was blindsided. She was knocked out and forced out of her life and woke up in the hospital only to find out the entire memory of her past had been obliterated. This brings me to my review of Pembroke Sinclair’s novel Coming From Nowhere, which definitely has the potential to go somewhere fast.

What started this whole chain of horrific events: People of course. Three countries on Earth: America, England and China each started out living under their own bubble with democratic governments in place. Each country had its own bubble and each had to deal with their daily life basic needs. There were many who lived on Earth and who could afford space travel and they moved to Mars. Earth was overcrowded and with anything or anywhere that has too many people, those that were rich took the opportunity to move to other worlds, which of course created more problems. Naturally, these people needed certain things to sustain their lives and Mars was developed into a Universal Planet.

China, the U.S. and England each set up their own schools on Mars that would function under the structure of democracy. But, not everything works out the way you want it too. When the populations grew and the planet established a mineral export, the democratic structure fell apart and like children or the countries in the world today, instead of coming to a common agreement, they went to war. Mars took matters over and the downfall of democracy occurred and the military took over. Military domes created and Mars was by ruled by one sick and demented general who had her own sadistically agenda. Thus, the fate of JD who was then sent to become one of the Generals soldiers, or someone who would turn into a cold-blooded killer and more.

In walks Roger, the general’s assistant, the general, Skinner, Alex, Maxx, Chris and a host of other dangerous people and inhabitants from the many different worlds and planets in the new solar system. Each having their own agenda, but one so deadly and dangerous the world would never be the same and when looking at its inhabitants you would never know who is real and who is a clone or worse.

What would you do if you knew that you were resurrected from the dead and created from an army of dead soldiers? JD was created that way and had no choice but to deal with it. Sent to military school and programmed to do as they say, she soon learns the severity of what happens when you speak your mind and disobey their rules. With every turn she makes, she finds obstacles. No one to trust, no one to rely on but herself and her physical attributes and strength. Lied to over and over again, tortured by Roger, the General and tested to the limit, JD learns the harsh realities of what these people are planning for the worlds they live in and why. Determination and fortitude are her guide and destroying those in her way, the goal.

Mason, her instructor, one minute on her side, the next not, Roger a crazy and sick minded man who is the pawn of the General who rules all of the planets and more and who everyone would like to destroy. As in the world today, wars ensued, overtaking planets and more continued, killings ran rampart, the collection of dead bodies to use and recreate soldiers the goal. Pembroke Sinclair has shown us the horrors of what could be, if we do not pay closer attention.

Imagine people buying cariensis, animals that are so dangerous that would kill you just by looking at you. So violent, so dangerous that their temperament and demeanor cause them to attack, even the owner when let loose. Who would want them? Those that need to have the power over others to terrify them and to help create their world of robotic soldiers who would do their bidding without question wanted these creatures. In other words, a Master Race fit to survive, but only by their rules.

Thinking they are safe from harm they procure several ships, deliver prisoners from Mars only to have their plan foiled again by Roger, Skinner and the General. But, fear not, the people who are helping them get the dangerous creatures hate the General and Roger even more and the tables get turned. But, JD learns at this point the lesson that Roger hoped she’d learn sooner: HOW TO BE A COLD-BLOODED KILLER!

But, this was not over yet. Many other people from different planets were now involved: Xyphons, Humans, people from Cha’Oon and more banned together to destroy the lab with these Cariensis or creatures that are dangerous and the bodies that were to be recreated from the dead. They were fighting a war to the end and hoping that Roger did not have any backup to work against them. But, the creatures were strong and they would have to find a way to make the creatures repel them in order to survive.

Telepathic thoughts from the Xyphons that entered JD’s mind to the help her fight the war. People that are so diverse and different in appearance working together, just proves that people of different species and races can get along and work toward a common goal.

Inside the lab with the dead bodies and trying to compose herself and not get sick, JD gets the scare of a lifetime and realizes that what might appear to be the truth is sometimes just an illusion. Coming back from the dead, the one person she thought really loved and cared about her, was aiming to kill and destroy her just for the lab and what was going to happen there. Eternal Life: at what cost and to whom? Taking dead bodies and recreating them in the image and form they want and making those that would be undead into living military robots, is not beautiful; it is scary, frightening and mindboggling to say the least. But, at what cost to your self-respect and more. Would you want to have to obey the orders of a mad man for the rest of your life in order to live DEATH FREE? If you disobey or accidentally miscarry out an order you will be terminated? Think about it!

The goal: to take over the WORLD with a reanimated army: Human takeover: World Domination: Watch your Back you will be blindsided.

Isolated and feeling she belongs nowhere, JD realized she had become an emotionless killer, exactly what they wanted from her. She enjoyed killing the people she did and she wanted to kill more.

Mars fell, the horror over, and Alex in charge. Roger and the General awaited trial but JD disagreed and wanted revenge not the courts to decide. She wanted exact revenge and not jail time for these two. They wanted to have a democracy in place on Mars and hopefully follow the rules and thrive. What does she do? You need to read this book to find out.

When all was said and done JD decided to find a new place and a new beginning in a new world away from everything and everyone. Does she? Will she ever be free of her past and start Going Somewhere? You need to read this innovative and unbelievably captivating novel to find out. Just think there could be a sequel and we could find out what really happens to Roger, the General and of course JD. The World and its leaders need to stay focused and awake: YOU NEVER KNOW WHO IS WATCHING OR WHAT

MIGHT HAPPEN NEXT!

I am the General and I feel justified in what I was trying to do and don’t count me out just yet.

I am Roger and I will do my best to take revenge on JD and all those who helped her and more. How dare they think that Eternal Life is wrong? How dare anyone destroy all that I worked for in order to create the perfect person: Unfortunately, I forgot to make these undead devoid of human emotions. But, watch out and look over your shoulder every minute of every day JD. This is not over yet.

Sarah's Landing II - * The Telepaths of TheonSynopsis of The Telepaths of Theon – Book 2 – Sarah’s Landing Series:

Sarah’s Landing –II – The Telepaths of Theon  – Synopsis

Torn by the plight of the people of the planet Theon and his love for one of their daughters, the man from Earth, Joshua has returned to his own planet to re-evaluate his dedication to his first love. As the novel of the second episode opens it is slightly before the time of the birth of his Earth son. After Joshua reluctantly decides to return to Theon, the guilt of leaving Alexandra, his first love, and Andrew his son to be, dulls his senses as he traverses the void between Earth and Theon. His thoughts thus consumed he is unaware of the pull towards the dark planet Crlllion until suddenly an internal alarm alerts him. Trying desperately to gain control, he wonders if the barbarians are actually the cause of the diversion in his transport destination. Joshua’s plight is detected on Theon by the Ruler, Heron, in time to avoid disaster by correcting his trajectory, and bringing him safely through the void. As the weeks and months pass, Joshua and his Theonian wife, the Ruler’s daughter, settle into a normal routine while awaiting the birth of their son Adam. Meanwhile the birth of his Earth-bound son, Andrew, proceeded in near unison with his half-brother.

Joshua’s decision to return to Theon leaves his first love feeling hopelessly abandoned which drives her into the arms of his best friend.  Although reluctant at first, the feeling of total loss compromises Alexandra’s innermost desires for the sake of her son, Andrew.  Before her marriage can be consummated Alexandra’s husband-to-be “dies” in a mysterious car crash. His body is never recovered, which drives her to the brink of insanity.  She doesn’t realize these events are being orchestrated by the Ruler of Theon and his henchman on Earth.

Theon’s Council and its Ruler, Heron, worry that Joshua’s loyalty to his first love on Earth cannot be completely broken. Believing it to be the only way to keep him on Theon, they plot to destroy all his Earthly ties, which mean the destruction of Alexandra and his first-born son, Andrew. Detecting their plan, Joshua, with extra-ordinary powers gained from discovering their Ancient culture, imprisons Theon’s Council within the depths of the planet where signs of their ill health, manifests itself.

While Joshua’s attention is diverted on Theon, he is unaware that on Earth, his young son, Andrew, desperately wishes to spend this third birthday with his alien brother. Andrew plans to wait until all are asleep before teleporting to Theon to be with Adam. He does not realize the danger he places himself in, or the heartache he causes everyone, both on Earth and on Theon.

Joshua’s search for Andrew brings him to an offbeat planet where he discovers the answer to a long sought secret. He knows, once he sees to Andrew’s safety, he will have to return to the rescue site in order to ensure no evidence remains that might lead the Theonian nemesis, the barbarians of the dark planet Crlllion, to them.

With the death of Heron, Theon’s Ruler and Adrianne’s father, the role of Leader is thrust upon Joshua and any thoughts of life on Earth forces a decision he would rather not make. After all, each of the two women is desirable and they are the Mothers of his children. Reluctantly, final decisions must be made for the survival of an entire race, the safety of his two sons, and the home he yearns for where the happiness of his first love still remains.

The Theonians, a civilization far advanced, and with fantastic psychic abilities, are on the brink of disaster.  The need to find another universe with a compatible life form is urgent.

That life form is found on Earth.  The Theonians easily integrate amongst the people of Sarah’s Landing, New England, unbeknownst to the inhabitants.
Joshua Morgan is a special investigator of the Alien Intelligence Team of the Space Intelligence Command (SICOM).  In love with telepath Alexandria, he mysteriously vanishes leaving her alone and pregnant.

On Theon, he is chosen as the next leader of the Theons, and joins with Adrianne, the daughter of the leader, Heron.  He also fathers a baby with her, and telepathically, all five are linked ? Alexandria, Adrianne, Joshua and the babies, sons Andrew and Adam.

Joshua’s friend, Lt Harry Jacobsen, loves Alexandria, and hopes to marry her.  At first disbelieving, he eventually comes to realize that she speaks the truth about another species.  This results in his disappearance and ‘believed death’.

The problems are building at a tremendous rate, for now not only is Joshua caught in a quadrangle with the two women and the two sons he loves, but the possible ‘neutralizing’ of Alexandria and her son Andrew by certain Theon Council members is a very real threat.  Internal conflict breaks out between the Earth men who live on Theon and the Theon council themselves.  Andrew disappears when trying to teleport to Theon. And to top it all off, a growing threat in the form of a cannibalistic race called the Crlllions is looming.

A story of epic proportions, book 2 of Sarah’s Landing is a whirlwind of happenings and possibilities, and heart-wrenching emotion, as a group of people are caught up in a future of what remains to be seen…horror, love, or despair?  What are the secrets that link Sarah’s Landing to the Theonians?

Elena Bowman is a mistress of her craft!  A recommended read for any lover of the sci-fi genre.

People ask me to give a synopsis of the story. Well I say it isn’t fair to write something so short that has had my heart and soul captivated for the past four years. Inspiration plays a tremendous part and I can honestly say, the lyrics and music of Simon Lebon and Duran Duran have done just that.Their style has been the back drop for many a poem and now my bok. So, I shall do my best to describe it for you…
In the pages of this book you will find that which is pure passion. A new story of old love and deprivation too. A metaphysical, metaphorical journey; of beauty and the ravages of ugliness.
The pages of this book contain words that stem from emotion, experience, and of purpose; if you will, faith. In many forms but with a voice. It is not just the vocals of the beholder. There is not one meaning, but a potential for many.
So, on your journey into Arcadia, along with the characters I have so come to love, I am certain you will find a voice, heart and perhaps a recognition of spirit as well.
Oh yes and just to let you know…everything happens in Arcadia’s time. So, dip a toe in the water there, walk the forest, fall into the whispers of the moon. You may find you are lost forever in a place that is OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN.

 Preface : OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN

There was a great disturbance in the balance. The opposition that occurred caused a fierce conflagration, leaving devastation and desolation all around. It lasted for many years and the world went into its deepest depression. There was no place to hide and no place to call your own. People died and they were reborn of a madness. Into and out of the depths of hell…they rose. It was like no world they would have ever imagined; there was no time to rest or you would be bested, and no one would allow life as it once had been.

During the time of love and affections there had been seeds planted and they were born into this time of desecration, this time of turmoil. The children were left to their own devices and to their places in a world that had no governing. In this Hadean terrain they must reside and fend, to bring forth their offspring and to teach them to live among those that mean to do harm.

Spirit, air, water, earth and fire – it was back to the ways of simplicity. There was no Christian way of life, no peace. But inner peace must prevail, or there can be no sustaining of life.

It was prior to this that all practices began and there once was an inner peace, a time for learning. But not now; now they must struggle and take charge of their destinies to arise and make anew of an ancient way of life. A way of life to help them cope and help them make this a prosperous world, abundant once again in balance with the tides and where the solstice could once again be.

For now the seasons were all amiss in this poor new world of old, old times and of ancient ruin, as it was all at the hands of their forefathers. It was a world where the waters were unsafe to drink with bare hand from unfounded and forgotten rivers and streams. It was the soil that had been barren as a wasteland and not cultivated for seeds to be planted for sustenance to grow. They were alone, these children of unknown origin, alone in a world gone mad. And it is from here that they begin….

Amanda is currently working on a forthcoming poetry book and the sequal to OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN, entitled, Genesis Fire.

The Warrior By Thomas Paul Sternerhowe

Warrior

The Warrior  is a novel of approximately 312,000 words.  It is set at the end of a cataclysmic five year global war.  The year is 2010 and the planet is in a state of chaos.  Wulf leaves his family and the beautiful Lylia,  descends into the Earth to seek a place of refuge for his People.  He is accompanied by his comrade-in-arms the Cajun, Angelo.

Once in the “Labyrinth”, they are accosted by blood-thirsty mutant creatures and a raging assassin.  Wulf faces many perils, not the least of which is the truth about himself.  Is he a “Climber”, a soul thief, vampire victim of a four hundred year curse?

The Patron knows, watching from his lair, “The Night Room”.  The naked ladies dance on his fiery stages as he watches and manipulates Wulf.  Lylia finds him there, on the wrong side of the one-way glass.  She is raped and beaten, cold as ice and forced to dance.  Still she stands proud and proves to be more than the wicked Patron can handle.,  He laughs as she makes her danse, gives her the tattoed skin of her raper as a gift, sends his head to Wulf.

Wulf emerges from the Labyrinth with the sultry lady doctor, Jennifer.  She has saved him, shared the secrets of the Labyrinth and her brother, Hood.  He discovers “After Earth”, a ship buried in the Earth and surrounded by the Labyrinth. He and Jennifer join Wulf’s Children, find Lylia gone and a world gone mad.

Wulf rides with The Lords of the Dragon into the stronghold of the United Republic of Allied Continents (YURASS) to seek peace, only to be attacked by the merciless assassin from the Labyrinth.  He returns to his home in the Great Stone Mountains, finds he has been betrayed by his brother and Boss Tongue, field commander of  The Lords of the Dragon.

Finally he begins to listen to the metal voice from the Labyrinth.  He makes plans to go with Jennifer, his Children and a handful of faithful riders from the Lords, into the Earth.  The YURASS strikes and the enemy from the Land of the Rising Sun.  An exodus begins as people in the cities hear about the wolf man going to live with the spiders and snakes.  Wulf welcomes them and waits with his comrades and Children, one thousand feet under the Earth, for the final ending to begin.

An epic and compelling adventure. An artful blending of motorcycles and the unique souls who ride them, clashing cultures, family love, the loyalty and honor of friends, stunning betrayals, and inconceivable evil all swirling in a land teetering between apocalypses. Join Wulf as he leads his people into the labyrinth, part of which is a futuristic underground habitation that just might be their salvation…or something much, much more.

Immerse yourself in this voyeuristic world with a junket through a timeless labyrinth and an abyss of imagination. The book is like an all day multi layered tasty jawbreaker – very complex and delightfully mystical down to the very last bit. The story opens at the conclusion of the world conflict in the year 2010 with Wulf saying a farewell to his loved and trusted friend, Hood. The farewell is an elaborate high ceremony at the Stone Mountains behind the City of the Rock. Wulf is a descendant of the North American Peoples and a member of Lord of the Dragon. He created a community known as the Cave of the Dark Heart. With help from the ancient Book of the See, Wulf along with his staunch companion, genus Cajun Angelo, boldly search for a secure haven for his people. The reader will jump in and out of dreams into nightmares in a flash of a thundercrack. In one mad dream Wulf experiences an intense vision of “ a worm crawled out of her mouth, white and fat, burrowing itself between her bleeding lips, feeding.” Meet the soul hopping Patron who is “fueled by hate and a burning lust for revenge”. There is nothing cookie cutter about this book. It has a distinct style all its own. It is written with an elaborate herculean and provocative style. This book aggressively takes on in limitless futuristic action the very human elements of mistrust, fears, abuse, sex, tenderness, love, and the dynamics in all relationships. This is not a book you can skim. The author vibrantly interweaves creativity, intensity and exquisite detail. Mr. Sternerhowe also provides music that may be downloaded from his site that correlates to the chapters in the book. A unique concept that should not be missed by the reader. The Madman Chronicles: The Warrior offers an adult cerebral momentousness makings of a first rate epic. Sherry Russell Author/reviewer

The Warrior: Madman Chronicles    Saturday 24 of January, 2004 [21:11:39 UTC

I have just finished reading this extraordinary novel and wanted to let you know (and any others who read this) what an incredible masterpiece it is. For those of us who have read your writings and heard your music this novel represents a consummation of it all! I will (and have been) recommend this read to anyone who is willing to listen! Put the CD with it and you (the reader) will have an already awesome experience heightened beyond belief. There really aren’t words to express (especially to someone who says them so well) what I get from your words and music! Fist extended to you Wulf…Word!

Excerpt:

There was no air to breathe, nothing to pull into his tortured lungs. His internal organs screamed, his chest bound, ragged breaths coming in short wheezing gasps. Wulf was awake, fallen into a nightmare world beyond compare, where? A stinking odor of musk owned the rancid air. His body was bound by tens of thousands of sticky rope things. Tensing his muscles, he could break ten of them, a hundred, but there were hundreds of hundreds and they held his body fast. It was impossible for him to move.

Each time he attempted to escape, Wulf became further entangled, his movement restricted more and more. Each shortened and struggling breath made a tightening of the rope threads that held him bound. Once more he was forced to push away his mounting panic in an attempt to get his bearings. As he gathered his wits about him, his mind barely able to assimilate the information received from his eyes and body, he entered a realm of fear and disbelief beyond anything previously experienced.

The sticky strings bounced this way and that. A silent shadow inched its way toward him. Out of nowhere the horrendous Mother of all wolf spiders was hovering over him. Her spider feet picked their way nearer, touching him here and there, probing the outside edges of the form his body made. She was aware of his waking, examining the bonds of the prison she had created for him. She had him solidly wrapped in the corner of the web she had constructed around him, pulling him up from the floor in her spider way. As she moved he saw a fine silk sac hanging a few feet from his head. It swayed back and forth, a silken womb in a darkened room. He could only imagine the thousands of tiny round spider eggs in the sac. His body shuddered violently and tears ran from his eyes as he became acutely aware of his rightful place in the scheme of things. A shrieking in his head wailed, “Food chain…spider brain!”

Wulf’s mind careened out of control. He babbled incoherently as he felt it let go. He was gone and that was so fine, until… His body ached so terribly in forever places as he sensed a tugging on the strands of silk holding him in a mortal embrace. Ignoring the pain, he twisted his head around. His eyes came to rest on the dripping fangs of his captor. There was a wildly squirming
bat hanging from them. It was still very much alive. Through the fuzz of his vision Wulf could see she hadn’t yet begun the process of draining the life fluids from its flying rat body. Its small beady eyes were shock-glazed over. Its filthy little fuzzy chest was rising and falling rapidly, the trip hammer of its heart beating double time with the effort of its futile struggle.

Wulf giggled and burbled, “Die Mister Bat.” His body shook with his unwarranted and completely senseless fear of the tiny winged animal. The inside of his half-crazed mind exploded with the absurd command, “Just eat the fucking thing you spider bitch!” He attempted to close his eyes but they were fastened on the doomed creature, mesmerized by its death throes. He felt hate in his soul for the merciless glistening fangs that held the poor damned thing. He would soon bear witness his own impending death. His other mind spoke, “We are one, little flying bat.” The voice whispered in his head, “Our twin fates are sealed and so be it. You will haunt me no more. We will hold our eyes open in the face of eternity, at the feast on our mortality. You are fortunate to be first, then done and through with her spider madness!” As if she could read his thoughts, the spider inched forward, legs lifting high in her exaggerated spider-walking. She was smooth and then stopped in a strobe-light danse of evil. Wulf heard all the things she did in a halting slow motion, the monster sound of her demented movements, smooth and whispers… whispers… bitch!

The bat gave a terrified squeal as she hooked it with the mating claw of her front leg and sprang at Wulf. She was so much quicker than his horrified mind could assimilate. He felt himself freefalling into a lunatic void. She wrapped herself around his head, the stiffness of his filthy matted hair, the stinking scent of her musk assailing him. He screamed at her and into her as
she shoved the struggling and bleeding bat into his mouth. She held him open with her claws, entering him, shoving the pathetic creature down his constricting throat. His choking and gagging were of no consequence to her. Against every bit of will he had left, he felt his throat accept what she offered, his body swallowing.

She pulled herself from inside him, slammed his mouth shut, wrapped her body tightly around his face. She held him thus until his retching and heaving subsided. Wulf was a thing of her embrace, a necessary link in the chain of her evolution, mutation. He was an unwilling patient, a
prisoner in her bleeding hospital. He would eat when she decided to feed him. And feed him she did. He spent the remainder of the most terrifying night of his life being fattened up on bats and spider milk, whatever else she found trapped and squirming in her killing web. The fight had gone out of him but she held him fast. He drank of her with his lips, his tongue probing the sac of her juice, sucking her dry. She held his head in a warm embrace, tending to him constantly, taking no nourishment herself. She was preparing for the long sleep. Her purpose for living was nearly over, eternity close at hand.

Wulf’s hairy hostess finally decided he had been fed enough. Perhaps she had simply run out of squirming, fighting, scratching and bleeding things to shove down his whore of a throat. She busied herself with repairs to her web, strengthening it where it attached to the floor and the wall. Wulf stared wide-eyed, with a morbid sense of fascination and impending doom as she worked. He watched as her abdominal spinnerets spewed forth fine silk, wrapping unidentifiable things, patching rents in the web and tending to the cocoon-like sac of her young. Her eight legs never stopped moving. They were a thousand fold, scratching and brutally raping the mouth and throat of him.

Now that she had left him alone he teetered on the very fringe of madness. He was nauseated by the writhing, biting and body fluids leaking, filthy crawling things of the earth he had been force fed. That is very well and good, his mind told itself. You don’t have to accept her offerings like the whore of your body. Then he would see her sac of eggs hanging, swinging back and forth, slow/fast like her and his mind would take yet another turn into and upon itself.

She was so busy all at once, her womb sac swaying madly, touching the web at each end of its arc. Pendulum, Wulf thought, pendulum. For his new terror he imagined the tens of thousands of baby wolf spiders clawing their way out of their eggs. They would use their tiny egg tooth, sharp and already mean. Their spider legs would crawl up and out of the sac, through its thin wall of Mother’s silk. They would be hungry… no, starving… voraciously starving, injecting their tiny needle fangs into him, twenty thousand of their needles, fastening themselves to every available surface area on his body, eyes, face, genitals.. And inside, drinking the essence of his mortal life from the inside and out, the outside and in, eating him alive in slow painful little pieces.
