Okay everyone; I have some interesting news for you all.  You want to have your books on the shelf in bricks and mortar stores.  Well, Dressing Your Book is working on a way to make that happen for you.  The one thing it would require is that all books be published through Dressing Your Book and printed through Lightening Source.  This is not a big deal in any case.  The more authors and books I can get the cheaper it will be for all of you to avail yourself of this new and creative service Dressing Your Book will be offering by the first of the year.   There will be an annual fee for me to advertise your books through Ingram distributions catalog so that your books will be in bricks and mortar stores. Something totally new for independent authors.  I am trying to take you all to a place you have never been before. Please drop me an e-mail at dressignyourbook@comcastnet to let me know if you are interested in joining this great new adventure.  You can also post a comment on here as well and I will get them all and get you all ready for a great new year.

Moments of Mine – Jerry M. White, Author

December 1, 2009 at 12:26 am (poetry, Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , )

Moments of Mine – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat

The Trouble with Trouble

The trouble with trouble
Is it takes so long
To make things right
That once were not wrong

To forget and move forward
To put out of our mind
The mischief that hounds us
We can’t leave behind

The trouble with trouble
Is that it’s so hard to see
It happens to others
But certainly not me

I have friends who love me
That truly love me and care
But they cannot help
If my troubles aren’t bare

Please God give us strength
To ask for our needs
That those who love us
May be blessed by their deeds

Your love surrounds us
Through our friends we are sure
They fill our lives daily
With a love that is pure

I now know that you care
Your love for us all
Is shown through tough times
If we would only call

We know that sometimes
Life is certainly not fair
That You will settle our troubles
When we Truly Believe You are there

As I read the poems written by Jerry White, and the stories behind each poem, I couldn’t help but feel the love and devotion flow from each word. Mr. White has a way of taking any circumstance, both happy and sad, and turning it into something beautiful. The poem above was one of my favorites and I think you too will be able to feel his love for God, family and friends as you read this piece of word art.

Author Cindy Parker Brings Her Readers Two Books of Poetry For The Soul – Spectrum and Origins

November 5, 2009 at 9:37 pm (faith, family, health, poetry) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

OriginsCindy Parker grew up in Clarklake, Michigan and currently lives in the downtown Jackson area. She has two collections of poetry that were recently published (2009) titled Spectrum & Origins. Spectrum is her first book of poetry and is a collection of 74 poems written and compiled over a ten-year period that reflects a spiritual journey across a spectrum of themes. Her inspiration comes from nature, the world around her, her faith, people who have influenced her life, the struggle for redemption, and how Christ answers her deepest longings. Origins is built around similar themes from nature, creation, and spiritual hope, but she also draws from her personal past, growing up, and exploring her family history, and themes of shared humanity. Origins has 32 poems written more recently plus some nature haiku. Both books are largely free verse, but in addition to the few haiku, she has an occasional prose, quatrain, or tetractys. Cindy has enjoyed the language of poetry for many years and continues to write. Grateful for all the people who have helped her fulfill a dream, she wants to encourage others to find their voice and creativity as it will begin a journey of discovery that will continue to unfold. The Multi talented Ann B Author Brings Readers Three Exciting Books And All Three Are Vastly Different

September 11, 2009 at 1:19 am (Ann B Keller, dragons, fairies, historical, Magic, poetry, romance, scifi, Suspense Novels, western) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

BriggenIn the first book of this exciting sci-fi/fantasy trilogy, Briggen, the brawny warrior prince, is plucked from a hostile planet by the powerful wizard, Quinhelm, beginning his desperate plunge into the midst of an interplanetary war. Briggen and Quinhelm rush home as the powerful Xandoth and their allies surge across the galaxy, killing and laying waste to everything they encounter. As Briggen confronts the evil Sorceress of Endih, squabbling nobles and an assassin on his home planet, the great dragon Ephereon abducts the good sorceress, Telana, instructing her in the ways of magic. To her astonishment, Telana learns that she is the Chosen One, the one foretold by the ancients to lead the people of Mantasi to a stunning victory. Telana joins forces with Briggen as they battle the Xandoth for supremacy over the planet. Will magic and courage triumph over the powerful forces of evil?

Devils CrescentIn The Devil’s Crescent, hardened bounty hunter Diego Montoya descends upon a small Texas village in the midst of a cloudburst and boldly plunges into the life of beautiful, small time cattle rancher, Maggie MacNaughton. Diego is a man haunted by a past filled with death and disappointment, a nobleman fleeing from the dictates of his demanding father and an arranged marriage. When a U.S. Marshall asks Diego to infiltrate a gun runner’s operation, Diego reluctantly agrees, shadowing the powerful land baron, Morgan Lansing. Morgan’s efforts play into the hands of a group of Mexican nationalists, who quickly claim the land vacated by the terrified settlers until only one parcel stands in the way of their march toward the border — the one occupied by Maggie MacNaughton. Diego and Maggie match wits and wills as the danger mounts. Only their reliance upon each other has the power to save them from a swift and certain death.

CrenellationsCrenellations is a marvelous collection of poetry that will enchant and inspire the reader to the greatest of human emotions. This is a seamless journey from the mist-enshrouded hills of Scotland to the peace of the Cathedral at York, from the mysterious Stonehenge to the sparkling vision of a fairy bower, and from dragons and wizards to the simplest of Earth’s creatures. May this journey be but the first step as we stride the path of greater knowledge, embracing all that we are and all that we may some day become.
